About

Caleb has worked in the healthcare industry for the past 20 years, is a current paramedic and Dad to three boys.

Tell us a bit about how you ended up working at Students Save Lives?

I have always worked in healthcare, starting my career as a nurse 20 years ago and for the past 15 years I have worked as a Paramedic. I am passionate about helping and educating the community.

What do you love about the Students Save Lives incursions?

I love that we are giving children the confidence to act in an emergency. These are life-saving skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. It’s very special to know that you are making a difference in the community.

What is the best thing about teaching young children life-saving skills?

It’s rewarding. Knowing you’re preparing a child to be calm with simple procedures for an emergency situation if it arises.

What is the funniest question you’ve had from a child during an incursion?

There are so many! We laugh a lot in our incursions!

I love their innocence and open-mindedness. We encourage this and make it a safe environment filled with loads of giggles and high fives! At this age children love to engage with all the medical equipment we use.

I look forward to teaching your child in the near future!
