Tell us a bit about how you ended up working at Students Save Lives?

I worked for a doctor for a number of years,  covering many facets within the practice and I absolutely loved it. That’s when I knew this was my forte knowing I had the personality, caring heart and passionate nature for this career.

What do you love about the Students Save Lives incursions?

I love that we can teach children how to act in an emergency in a simple and fun way. Taking a potentially scary situation and teaching children the steps to act is very rewarding.

What is the best thing about teaching young children life-saving skills?

It’s rewarding. Knowing you’re preparing a child to be calm with simple procedures for an emergency situation if it arises. Also, seeing their faces light up with excitement to learn something new!

What is the funniest question you’ve had from a child during an incursion?

Not a question but some of their answers to, "What is an emergency?" are very cute! I've had -
"When I can't find my blankie"
"When Mum hides the chocolate!"
"When my brother won't give me a turn of the iPad!"
